An American storyteller, Dahl was raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan, a small college town in the southeastern corner of the state. She is the youngest of three children and the only girl. Growing up, she could be found dancing ballet on Saturday mornings and playing street hockey with friends in the afternoons. She has always enjoyed writing and filled countless notebooks with stories of friendship and adventure.
She fell in love with romance novels at an early age when her mother gifted her Beverly Jenkins’s third book, Indigo. She was just fifteen years old. She quickly became an avid romance reader.
Dahl graduated from Purdue University and then moved to the east coast. She has a Master of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Pennsylvania and earned an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University. Dahl's experiences living in Philadelphia, where she worked as a high school Spanish teacher, inspired her to write her debut novel, Love, Rebooted. She draws inspiration from bestselling authors like Jenkins along with E. Lynn Harris, Brenda Jackson, and Alyssa Cole.
Dahl's writing features diverse characters, witty dialog, and self-reflection, not to mention steamy sex scenes. It offers readers an opportunity to revel in the types of conversations often discussed between girlfriends over half-priced drinks at the end of a long work week. More than that, Love, Rebooted reimagines Black femininity and sexuality.
When she is not writing or reading, C. Rose Dahl enjoys summers on the road, seeing sights like the clear blue waters of La Playa Ocean Park in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Also, she watches Big Ten college football in the fall and every spring during March Madness she cheers on the Boilermakers.
